DOOH

Design implements frequently ferry across all platforms, social media to DOOH, etc.
This BMO example had 22 versions in EN and FR for a total of 44 implementations. I figured that was a lot of heavy lifting so created a template system that fed off of singular master comps (EN and FR) in After Effects.
This image shows the large LED layout with guides for instance. French Social Media version is higher up the page.

Character Animation and Rigging

TTNT Dance the Twist (Crickets Prt. 2)

Character design, rig build and design, tween animation, choreography 🙂 by myself.
Teena’s voice isn’t correct just being a hodge podge of AI, myself, and a scavenged crying sound from animated movie Hotel Transylvania from a YT video. Yes, Teena shows her vulnerable side in this one! 🙁

Crickets

Giving the Teena character a lip sync challenge. Even though mouth drawing substitutions weren’t a huge consideration when conceiving this character the deform based mouth elements worked out ok under the circumstances. The Ai generated voice, though pretty good for what it is, didn’t really have a lot of annunciation to work with so I didn’t get too hung up on perfection.
Wanted to give the character something cheeky to say and pair with body language acted out. This topic popped up and I hope I don’t offend any insect eating advocacy groups.

Teena Terror & Tank Dance Duo Puppet Rig (New edit)

Character Design Challenge for 360 degree 2D rigs for 2 characters | Construct advanced rig, incorporating IK/FK switches |Kinetic posing capacity | Tweened and straight ahead frame by frame animation.

Teena Terror & Tank Dance Duo puppet rig initial pose test

This initial version was a straight view, head to toe for the duration, to effectively access the full figure capacity to interact with one another. Some zooming in etc. helped the narrative in the latest edit, which cleaned up some of the more dubious frames.

Miscellaneous compilation of tests etc..
More to come re: the Madmen Space Invader characters, designed by friend and colleague P. Reid,  soon I hope.

Samurai Jack’s Aku character

A little fan art of the character from famed animated show. Giving credits to voice of actor “Mako”… which I hope isn’t too naughty of me to include in such a purpose.
Simple, just front view but using a “weighted deformation” enhanced mouth setup in Toon Boom Harmony.

Using Duik on native shapes in After Effects.

Simple animated avatar, aptly dubbed “CeeTee”, for the Canadian Tire service app. It was done in After Effects using the DUIK script but final delivery needed to be in Lottie format, which required some additional considerations.

The press release was as follows:
We are thrilled to announce that CeeTee, our AI-powered personal shopper, has won an award! It was recently recognized as a CIO Awards Canada winner for 2024. This award honours the outstanding IT teams within Canadian organizations who are boosting efficiency and fostering stronger customer connections.
