Horses have has always been a part of Jessica Phoenix’s life and since her discovery of the sport of eventing this Uxbridge Ontario daughter has not been shy of opportunities to convert her passion into benchmark experiences.
"Competing and winning gold for Canada has always been my dream. Representing my country at the Pan American Games (2007). brought me one step closer! As a profession I teach and train riders and horses allowing me to connect from the grass roots right up to the highest level of competition. I feel that by realizing my own dream I can best help Canadian Equestrians of the future reach theirs!"

Jessica would like to thank all the businesses, organizations and individuals for their kind support.
Thank you so much for all of your support leading
up to and throughout the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Although it did not
quite turn out how we anticipated the experience was unforgettable!
As you know, during a routine vet examination at the Olympic training camp
a small injury to Exploring’s left front tendon was discovered. The
prognosis was encouraging but it meant missing the Olympics and performing
stem cell on the tendon. When we returned home to Ontario the stem cell
process was started immediately. This involved extracting 40ml of bone
marrow from Explorings sternum and then shipping it to Prince Edward Island
where the stem cells were separated and then grown in a lab before being
shipped back to Toronto and injected into Explorings tendon. The process
was incredible! This past Thursday we ultra sounded the tendon for the
first time since the surgery and the results were amazing! The tendon was
healing beautifully and you could not even see were the injury had occurred.
This means Exploring can now start back into work at the walk and progressively
build back up to his normal fitness level.
While Exploring was healing this summer his equine team mates Exponential, Exuberant, and Expression were busy trying to fill his shoes. In early September we traveled to Kentucky to compete in FEI International Competition. All three horses competed incredibly and finished in the top Five. They then went on to successfully contest CCI competition with Exuberant toping the field in the Wits End One Star International and Exponential finishing a solid Seventh out a field of almost ninety in the Fair Hill American Championship Two Star International. Exponential is now qualified to compete at Explorings level in 2009, with Exuberant and Expression only one level below.
Of course are goal is to win gold at the 2012 Olympics in London England! Gaining experience against the best in the world has to be the focus leading up to this. The 2010 World Championships in Kentucky and the 2011 Pan American Games in Mexico will hopefully be a large part of that experience, but in order to prepare for these competitions we are planning a trip to Europe in 2009 to compete against the best in the world.
– Canadian Jessica Phoenix on Exponential made a huge leap from 23rd place after dressage up to 10th after a double clear cross country round. "This was my horse's first CCI - he was third in the CIC in Kentucky," she explained. "My fingers are crossed that I will move him up to advanced in the spring."
Another stellar double clear performance in show jumping moved the pair up to finish seventh overall. "He's honestly the best jumping horse I've ever sat on and he so loves his job. We are very lucky to have him!"
